We design spaces. We stay for the whole ride.
— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Founded in Berlin in 2006 by Axel Schäfer, BERLINRODEO was built on a simple idea: that the spaces we inhabit shape who we are. Not metaphorically — literally. The quality of light, the texture of materials, the flow between rooms: all of it affects how we think, how we feel, and how we connect with others.
We are a small, focused studio. We do not take on more projects than we can give our full attention to. We work closely with clients from the very first conversation through to the final detail — because we believe that the relationship between architect and client is itself a kind of design.
BERLINRODEO has two arms: the Studio — where we practice interior architecture — and the LAB, a 100m² creative platform in Charlottenburg where we host exhibitions, events, and collaborations. Both are expressions of the same conviction: that design should be lived, not just admired.
Before we propose anything, we understand everything. How you live, how you work, what matters and what doesn’t. The design follows from that — not the other way around.
We manage every phase: concept, design development, material selection, contractor coordination, and final execution. Nothing falls through the cracks because we never let go of the thread.
We don’t mark a project as done because the deadline arrived. We stay until the space is what it was meant to be. That’s not a promise — it’s how we work.
A conversation costs nothing. A poorly designed space costs a lot.
